To those who don't know and want to try out the BETA 2 release of firefox 3, here's a link to their download site
(DOWNLOAD FIREFOX 3)
First, Here's a list of lesser known issues, and tips on how to remedy them:
Extensions that don't work
Since firefox 3 is new, the old extensions are not made compatible (although it can work), this is because of a comapitibility check, this can be turned off in about-> config by changing this code:do take note however, that compatibility checks are there for a reason; some extensions are not really optimized for firefox 3 yet so it wouldn't be suprising if it won't work.
extensions.checkCompatibility = false
Ctrl+mousewheel scaling
When you scroll the mousewheel while holding control, firefox changes the font size like before but it also applies scaling to images as well (which might seem uneccessary) problem is, when you scroll it down, instead of making it larger, it does the opposite; something people just aren't used to. to remedy this, set the following values in about ->config
mousewheel.withcontrolkey.action = 3
mousewheel.withcontrolkey.numlines = -1
the address bar
If you hate the new address bar you could always install the oldbar extension, available for download.And now, these better known problems (taken from mozilla site)
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.0b2/releasenotes/#issues
do note however, that firefox 3 is still in BETA and hopefully, these issues would be solved at it's official release.
