Gaming has well stepped up a notch in the past year with the release of games requiring high-end graphics (crysis,Bioshock, Hellgate:London, etc.), and this post is based on what I think is the best Video card series to be released in 2007. The GeForce 8800, SLI-Ready and one of the first to support directX 10®.
A whopping 768 MB (GTX and ULTRA) placed in SLI mode would cater to all your gaming needs.
But the Cost is nothing to scoff at:
GeForce 8800 GTX (/ 768MB GDDR3 / SLI / PCI Express / Dual DVI / HDTV / Video Card)
Ranges from $400 - $780 as of now
and
GeForce 8800 Ultra (/ 768MB GDDR3 / SLI Ready / PCI Express / Dual Link Dual DVI / HDTV / Video Card
Costs at around $600- $780
the GTX would prove to be a better choice to save a couple of hundred dollars, the increased performance from the Ultra is not that noticable when compared to how much you'd save.
I'd say that this would be one of the best choices for gamers anywhere, but I can wait a while for the price to drop a little. =p
