Fun Stuff: Companion Cube made out of solid wood!

With the Craze over Vavle's game: Portal , one thing that players loved in the game was the companion cube ( ^_^ <3 ) . There would come a time where players are inevitably required to part with their beloved companion cube at which people believe is the most tragic part of the game.

With that said, players looked for ways to bring the companion cube to real life, most popularly, with origami.
But one real-life companion cube stood out from the rest, this was made by Megan.Brunner and her husband, John. This particular companion cube was made from wood and is nothing short of artistic. Great work!
(now I wish I had one of those too.) The companion cube trend is starting to grow, and I could expect more innovative companion cube creations such as this in the future. =)

Quote from Megan:
"My husband played through, and fell in love with, Valve's new game Portal. After joking that he wanted a "real" Companion Cube for his desk, I thought it would be fun to make him a wooden version for Christmas. Problem: we don't have a wood shop. Happily, his uncle lives near us, and has a garage full of tools. John did the cutting, and I did the sanding, staining, and gluing. All told, It took about a week of work."

The Finished Product

It certainly took a lot of work to create this piece of art. Kudos to Megan and John.

This is GREAT! It gives me a lot of ideas too. My husband and I are expecting our first child and were thinking about making some hollow companion cube toyboxes (3 stacked in a corner) and a blue portal painted up on the wall that they "fell" out of.

Your companion cube gave me lots of ideas!!

To be a noble benign being is to have a philanthropic of openness to the world, an cleverness to trusteeship aleatory things beyond your own restrain, that can lead you to be shattered in unequivocally exceptional circumstances on which you were not to blame. That says something exceedingly outstanding relating to the prerequisite of the ethical life: that it is based on a trustworthiness in the up in the air and on a willingness to be exposed; it's based on being more like a shop than like a prize, something rather dainty, but whose very special attraction is inseparable from that fragility.
